Edgewood Place Apartments
is the first multifamily development done by Caleb. This development
is located on 11021 Plank Road in Baton Rouge about 1/2 mile past the
airport. This 72 units development was financed by Low Income Housing
Tax Credits, Home Funds, an Affordable Housing Grant from the Federal
Home Loan Bank of Dallas and term financing by Bank One CDC. Construction
financing was provided by Hibernia National Bank
Development was
done as a partnership between Caleb C.D.C and Calhoun Builders of Mansfield,
LA. This is a 72 unit complex that has the following unit mix and the

The development
has washer/dryer connection, a private porch, a laundry facility on
site, a centrally located playground and an on site manger.
This development
will also have a learning center. This center is currently equipped
with 10 computers all networked. These system will have Internet access
by early 2000 through a cooperative relationship with Southern University.
Besides having computers there are three programs that operate out of
this center for the community. These programs are: Youth
Empowerment Source, Diminishing
Fear of Computers (D.F.O.C.), and Home
Buyer's Education.
